With the purpose of coping with imbalance between skills that youth possesses and existing specialized requirement of labor market, the Government of Tajikistan along with the international community provide the youth with opportunities to obtain essential skills in the frame of both formal and non-formal education system.
Public organization “Youth House” supported by DVV International has made significant efforts for development and implementation of Youth and Women Comprehensive Program which meets the needs of vulnerable stratum of society from the amount of youth and women. The program oriented to improvement of living standards and obtaining knowledge and skills, includes professional orientation sessions, civic education, computer literacy classes, English Club, and also short term vocational training on selected professions.
Each participant has had educational and psychological needs identification tests. Based on that, each participant was proposed an educational program consisting of only necessary for her/him modules.
In the frame of the program, starting from 2015, 140 people (60 women and 80 youth of both gender) from vulnerable stratum of society trained.
The program gave an opportunity for the attendees to get necessary scope of knowledge in civic education which boosts the citizenship of the participants. They completed sessions as personal skills development (listening skills, performance and leadership skills and conflict resolution), civic society and basics of Legal knowledge. Youth House staff also provided assistance in selection of future profession and orientation in labor market. Moreover, the program included training on small business development and short term vocational training. Upon the completion of courses, the participants have got professions and skills which enable to improve their lives.
