Khorog, February 22, 2018. The third, final annual partners meeting (APM) with participation of the "Youth Empowerment Towards Sustainability and Change" Project partners and stakeholders will be held on February 22, 2018 in Khorog, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan (GBAO).
Up to date the Project could bring together various society sectors around the community social concerns: the civil society component of the Project implemented 31 community projects, aimed at solution of social problems, with wide participation and contribution of all the local stakeholders, such as district headquarters, local businesses, community residents, etc. The youth business development component had supported 41 start-ups, above 95% of which are confidently working by the end of the Project. The Khorog ATC had implemented 28 mobile vocational courses on 4 professions, which were developed, tested and started within the Project.
The Project local partners (PO “Madina”, PO “Civil Society Support Center “Kalam”, the Khorog Adult Training Centre) and stakeholders- representatives of regional Government Office, International Development Organizations GIZ, MSDSP, UCA and media are the expected participants of the APM meeting.
This will be the third and final APM, organized by DVV International Tajikistan to report on the above-mentioned project, implemented between March 2015 and March 2018. The objective is to discuss with the local stakeholders sustainability of the Project results. The DVV International Project staff intends to share with lessons learned and to discuss sustainability expectations of the achievements, as well as possible continuation of the implemented activities, beyond the Project period and support.
Background information: In March 2015, with the support of the European Union, the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV International) initiated a new 3-year Project implemented within the framework of the EU “Peace Building Partnership Programme”. The project is funded by the European Union (494,096 EUR = 80%) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) (130,904 EUR = 20%). The Project activity targets 7 districts of GBAO and its capital town Khorog.
